Collection Feature Service and Dashboards

When you setup a collection, you have an option to enable a feature service on the collection so you can use the data in other places like ArcGIS Dashboards. Let's say I have a collection and I want to create a list in a dashboard showing the Top 10 services by number of requests.

Can I even do that? It doesn't look like the actual metric data is one of the exposed tables, just the metrics themselves.

Even still, when I add the feature service to my Portal and click on the Data tab to view the Metrics table, it just times out. The services table loads fine.  Neither of them open without error in Pro.

I am seeing the same thing, when trying to view the feature-service table for metrics it times out.

Hi

There is a known issue with the metrics layer and ArcGIS Portal / Dashboards at 2023.0 which causes those timeouts. It has to do with the interaction between underlying "1=1" REST queries and the temporal nature of the metrics data table, which is included as part of that layer. A solution to that issue will be available at 2023.1 and there will be future improvements to the service as well.

The metric layer is a join between Metrics and Metric Data, to help facilitate working with the normalized data model in ArcGIS. It would be the place to start when leveraging Dashboards to present services with request rate. However, I am not familiar enough with Dashboards to know if there is a straightforward way to sort various series by a data aggregate (for instance, request rate sum over the last hour).

Hi Evan,

Could not see this in the issues addressed for the 2023.1 Release Notes. We have 2023.1 installed and still have this issue. Are there any workaround/updates availible?

Thanks

Tim
