Can you add bathymetry data in raster format from within a File geodatabase. when I "add bathymetry" and brows to my file geodatabase, I only see the point datasets available. If I filter the file types to "file system raster" the FGDB does nto even show.

The only type of data you can add to the BIS from a geodatabase is point feature class data. Otherwise, you will add the raster elevation datasets directly to the BIS, and do not need to add them to a geodatabase first. The advantage to this approach is that you do not have to first copy your rasters to a geodatabase only to have them referenced by the BIS. They can be referenced from their original location.
