I have an online app that I update by using the map service from ArcGIS desktop. Sometimes I add additional layers (shapefiles) to the service in desktop and overwrite my current service to update my online map. Is it possible to automatically add the new layer to my online map without having to remove the entire layer online and re-add it and change all the settings again?
Steps of what I do: Open desktop, add an additional shapefile/layer to my map with its attributes -> File, Sign In->Share As Service -> Overwrite existing service and go through steps. Then once complete, I open the app online and have to remove that service layer from my map and re-add it to get that new layer to show and redo all symbology, labels, etc.
