Hi all,

I found this great map service showing waterbodies and such Esri Hydro Reference Overlay - Overview

I'd like to pull out just the rivers and lakes; is that available anywhere?

Thanks!

Thank you for your question @AlfredBaldenweck. I would recommend the National Hydrography Dataset offered by USGS, available within Living Atlas. Here is the link to those hosted feature layers within Living Atlas, but you can also use the "Environment" Category and a search phrase like "hydrography river lakes" to find it in the future. I also applied the "Layer" filter.

V2 works pretty well with some finagling, but just so you know, V1 has issues-- a field is used for symbology that doesn't exist.

Thanks!

Wait actually, sorry. There are several bodies of water missing from that that are present in the basemap (service data in dark blue, basemap in pale)

Is the data used for that public?
