Usually using “fit” mode there are chips of the selected values fitting the space. When space runs out the “fit” option adds a (+N) Chip to the view for all further selected values.
When the combobox is shortened to e.g. 300px in width, then the value Chips and the Plus-Chip as well are not shown any more, even when the selected value fits the space.
Instead the general (N Selected) Chip is shown from beginning on.
It feels like there is a hard limitation in width prior to a calculation of the actual space taken by the values Chips.
There is no such documentation about this limitation in width.
Expected behavior: Full names of selected items are shown in combobox if the name is short enough to be displayed
Actual behavior: Display names strongly depend on a large width of the combobox
