User that is in out AGOL account that has Viewer License and Role cannot access an Instant App that has been published. Although the map is based around editing and updating information, the user is a manager and needs to view it to be able to monitor progress on the map. Is there a setting that I'm missing that will give him access. The map was shared with multiple groups which he is part of one. Other users are getting in with the Editor Role, but not him.

Are you using the Web Editor template? Both the Web Editor app and the Web Editor template have specific licensing requirements since they are oriented toward editing data. You can find those in the documentation here https://doc.arcgis.com/en/web-editor/latest/get-started/requirements.htm

New question on this topic. I know that the Web Editor for Instant App is in Beta, is there going to be an update to allow Users with just the View License to access the map?
I'm having trouble understanding the documentation for the Web Editor template. It says this:
The following users have access to edit feature layers:
- The data owner
- Members of the organization with the Administrator role
- Members of the organization with administrative privileges to update content
This makes it sound like only owners and admins can edit, but I have a user with a Creator user type and Data Editor role editing data owned by someone else in a Web Editor instant app right now. This documentation seems misleading.
This owner originally had a Mobile Worker license and Data Editor role, and he was not able to even open the app with that licensing. I had to upgrade him to a Creator, and then he was able to open the app and edit data.
To me, this defeats the purpose of the Web Editor Instant App template. If you have to be a Creator, you might as well edit the data in Pro, where the editing tools are much more robust. We often create data editor apps using the Sidebar Instant App or Experience Builder so that our field biologists can refine the data they create in the field using Field Maps (for vegetation mapping or other habitat delineations), and I was really happy to see the new Web Editor Instant App template since it adds the ability to split and merge polygons. Splitting and merging is of great value to us since it results in far fewer slivers and gaps for our GIS team to clean up later. But if mobile workers can't edit data in that template like they can in Sidebar, it's much less convenient for us to use since we have to swap out their licenses to grant them access to the app.
I don't understand why mobile workers would be allowed to edit data in Sidebar or in Field Maps, but not be allowed to edit the same data in the Web Editor Instant App template. What's the rationale for that?
