I've noticed that several apps created with the Sidebar template are producing an error that they are unable to load the map:

I'm seeing this issue in Chrome and Firefox.

The web map opens normally on it's own and if I create a new Sidebar app it works fine.

Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

Here's the URL of the app: https://leegis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/instant/sidebar/index.html?appid=41d9dbcc8d504c4280dc236ee21c5e1...

Here's the map: https://leegis.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=4294a46ccb814fcbbb3f7c2f8d5d4a32

Thanks,

Josh

Oops I'm sorry can you try removing the app item description and snippet.

Thanks for reporting the issue. This is due to a bug in last nights release and we have a fix for this going out tonight. In the meantime there is a workaround for the issue if you can edit the web map. For the web map item you'll need to delete the snippet (and potentially the description too) from the web map item. You will be able to add these back in after the update goes in.

Thanks Kelly and Sarah!

I figured it was just a bug from the update. Unfortunately, that workaround didn't work this time. I've added a message to the splash screen and will wait for the fix to be pushed.

That's strange. Is your app or map public? If so can you share the link? I'd like to make sure we have a solution for the issue and deleting the web map snippet/desc should have resolved the issue.

Yes, both are public.

Here's the app item: https://leegis.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=41d9dbcc8d504c4280dc236ee21c5e11

Here's the map: https://leegis.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=4294a46ccb814fcbbb3f7c2f8d5d4a32

I've got a few other apps that aren't shared publicly that are exhibiting the same behavior. I'm happy to try any other tweaks that may help.

Thanks,

Josh

Hi Kelly!

Following this bug, as it is affecting several of our public web apps.  Your workaround worked for one of my sidebar apps, but the second one is still facing the issue after removing the description and summary from both the app and web map item page.

Here are the item pages still facing the issue:

Sidebar App Page

Thanks for the additional example. To fix that app you'll need to go into the app configuration to the map section then scroll to the bottom and edit the map accessibility section to remove the text. Once the updates are published tonight you can re-add the text.
