ArcGIS Indoors Web Scene drawing units at the wrong elevation

I'm running into a problem with my web scene where units are drawing at the middle height of the details layer, rather than where the floor actually is (illustrated in attachments).

Both feature layers are set in the Pro Elevation tab to show features at an absolute height, with additional elevation from a "Relative Elevation" field (values are all 0). Vertical exaggeration and cartographic exaggeration are set to 0 as well. So, I'm thinking that they should have the same base elevation and appear as such.

Any thoughts on how to get the units to draw in a way that actually evokes a floor?

Hi Megan, thanks for your question and the screenshots. A few questions will help with troubleshooting:

  1. What version of ArcGIS Pro is being used to publish the web scene?
  2. Do the z-values of the Units features' vertices match the minimum z-values of the Details features' vertices? To check in Pro:
    1. Select a feature.
    2. On the Map ribbon, in the Selection section, click Attributes. The Attributes pane opens.
    3. In the Attributes pane, switch to the Geometry tab and review the values in the Z column.

If the z-values are not correct, please share what steps were taken to prepare the web scene. Recommended steps for Pro 3.0 are documented here: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/indoors/viewer/prepare-a-scene-for-indoor-viewer.htm

Regards,

Jason

Hi Jason,

  1. I'm using ArcGIS Pro 2.9.3 to publish
  2. The z-values of the Units and Details matched, and were what I expected. The vertices for the walls and rooms displaying incorrectly were all 0, although in other features some vertices had negative z-values. (It's out of frame in the screenshots, but the site includes a pool that is set into the ground... I was intending to show the depth.)

After investigating a bit more, I found that the Details layer was actually drawing half below ground. Not quite sure why. That said, I looked at the recommended steps for Pro 3.0, and used some of those. Using the geometry z-values for additional feature elevation, seems to have done the trick!

Thanks for your help.

Best,
Megan
