Depending on where you are in the world as you read this, you may be familiar with daylight saving time.  Wikipedia describes the practice:

Daylight saving time (DST), also known as daylight savings time or daylight time (United StatesCanada, and Australia), and summer time (United KingdomEuropean Union, and some other countries), is the practice of advancing clocks (typically by one hour) during warmer months so that darkness falls at a later clock time. The typical implementation of DST is to set clocks forward by one hour in the spring ("spring forward") and set clocks back by one hour in autumn ("fall back") to return to standard time. (source)

Personally, I have mixed feelings about the practice as it sort of throws my body for a loop for a few days.  Maybe it’s that the change is abrupt – yesterday was dark at this time, today is light – like flipping a switch.  I wonder if anybody has ever thought about making the time change more like a dial…  But there was something about it at the beginning of this week, when it was light out again for my 6:30 am bike ride, that I have found to be entirely welcoming and needed.

Do you know what else happens two times every year?  A new release of ArcGIS Pro!  Throughout the year you search and add kudos and comments to others’ ideas in the ArcGIS Pro Idea Exchange, or you submit your own unique ideas of what you would like to see in future versions.  We watch those, keep an eye on activity throughout the year, and prioritize your requests into release plans.

ArcGIS Pro 2.9 includes about 60 ideas submitted through ArcGIS Ideas.  When you’re ready, flip the switch, turn the dial, spring forward, do whatever you need to do to upgrade to Pro 2.9 where you can expect to find the following user-requested improvements, plus a ton of other great stuff!

@KoryKramer  thank you for the update. I want to warn users though - don't upgrade all of your machines right away. We just upgraded 2 computers to 2.9 and now exporting one of our pdfs causes an immediate software crash. We exported pdf yesterday using 2.8.3 with no problems. Now we need to hunt down an old version of Pro and install it so we can function. Not sure what got broken but 2.9 is unusable as is, right now.

@Anonymous User sorry to hear that.  Did you submit the error report with your email address so that I can find it?

If not, can you go to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\ESRI\ErrorReports and send me the latest .dmp files from Pro crashing (kkramer@esri.com).  The filename contains a date-time stamp:

Depending on what the dump file shows we may need a package of what you are exporting that causes the crash.  But you can follow up by email.

Thank you for helping us track this down.

To close the loop on this interaction, the cause of the failure is exporting/printing a layout with an empty text elementWe are actively working on a fix to include in a patch, but for now check the Layout Contents pane and remove any empty text elements. We believe that should allow the operation to complete successfully.

The latest version of Arcgis Pro, as it is not so compatible with Windows 11, if the application is running, but it causes the computer to slow down too much, also if the application is very slow in simple geoprocessing processes, and worse is when you have to save the project. The characteristics of the equipment so that this application runs at the speed seen in the videos, are high almost at the level of workstations and even more, which is not very practical. The other issue when connecting to another Geodatabase is to connect again to the existing ones in the Arcmap and of course you must have an exclusive internet.
