Turn Off or Auto Collapse "More Info" Tab in the new Hub update

Is there a way/or will there be a way to modify this "more info" feature? Sadly our users of a Hub Configuration do not want to see that information when accessing applications that are displayed within the Hub, or at least do not want it to display automatically when opened. I'm not finding a place to turn that feature on and off, or at least keep it collapsed automatically. They also don't need to see my information as the creator of the content.

Thanks for the question!

Sites have a setting that you can toggle, which will open applications in their default application viewer. Go to your site, and go to edit it. In the side-panel, press Settings. Under the Interactions section, look for Embedded Apps and turn this off. 

Again, this will open applications in their default application viewer. (E.g. a story map will open in a StoryMaps URL) Your applications would no longer open in the context of your Hub site. 

If you have additional feedback, please pass it along! Feel free to reply if toggling-off the Embedded Apps setting isn't a great solution for you.

I'll clarify that I want to have the apps open within the Hub, I want them embedded, I just don't want that "More Info" Panel to open automatically. And I'd like to have the choice to not have the creator name and profile image appear. That is irrelevant to the Hub/Application users and makes me a little uncomfortable (since I'm the creator and not the person they need to reach out to if there are problems). This feature seems to be related to the new Hub release as the users of my hub configuration reached out to me today. In concept, I think it's a nice feature, I just want to be able to turn it off and modify what information about the application appears in the More Info side panel. 

My solution was to painfully add each application into a page via the Application Widget (There are 16). Once I did that, the More Info Side panel does not appear. Would have been nice to just some how toggle the More Info Side Panel... but alas... time was of the essence.

We're still actively collecting feedback on the behavior of this side-panel that summarizes the most important metadata for an item. We're definitely taking your request into account regarding a configuration that turns-off the side-panel from opening automatically. 

Here's something to consider if you want your publicly available content to not display your name or profile photo:

If you log into arcgis.com and edit your "Profile visibility" settings to Organization or Private, the author will appear as "Private member".

I think it's a nice feature that will be utilized in our other Hub Configurations. This particular one is shared with 400+ users who don't have any/or little knowledge about GIS so the project leader didn't want this information for each application crowding up the Hub configuration, and didn't want to have to add in an extra piece of communication for making sure the users know how to collapse the side panel. For what it's worth, I think there's some applications that I don't mind having public profile visibility; more about the audience I'm sharing with then my profile visibility settings in general; however that is a good suggestion if I didn't want anyone knowing I am the creator. 

Embedding applications within Pages was the next best solution; looking forward to seeing how the side panel evolves.

I agree with Teresa. I have dozens, and perhaps hundreds, of applications within Hub which suddenly have the "more info" tab opening by default. I need the applications to open in the Hub environment, but I don't want the "more info" tab at all. At they very least, I'd like it to default as collapsed or hidden.

My company builds Hubs for clients. The clients are supposed to contact the project manager we put in charge of the project regarding any work they'd like done. Now, our clients are seeing a whole bunch of information they didn't ask for in the form of the "more info" thing, and are demanding the project manager get rid of it, which we can't. Luckily, the client can see who actually made the thing now! So, as some clients are inclined to do, when they don't get an answer they like from the project manager, they go ask someone else. Not unlike when a kid gets an unsatisfactory answer from mom, so they go ask dad. Now our GIS analysts are getting contacted directly from the clients to remove the more info tab that has our GIS analyst's names and pictures on them. It's not an ideal situation.

TL;DR - please allow us to turn off this functionality.

I have a few other questions if you don't mind. Regarding clients reaction to the side panel appearing on the left, are they aware that it can be collapsed? Are there other types of content that are not applications (dashboards, story maps, etc) where the side panel is helpful to your clients?
