Turn off calendar in Events Widget

I have a HUB site with an Upcoming Events widget.  I would like to display simply the list of events, not the graphic calendar.  There is a slider under Options to show/not show the Calendar, but I am unable to slide it to the "Don't Show" position.  It stubbornly remains enabled.  How to I get rid of the big graphic calendar?

@JayJohnsonWashoeCounty  Sorry you were not able to turn off the calendar. Our team has opened a bug for this.

Yeah, I was trying to give google's a fair chance, but getting irritated with the large gaps between icons as well. Thanks.
