We are excited to announce that Hub Projects are now ready for general availability (GA)!

Hub Projects,  launched in fall 2023,  are out-of-the-box items that enable you to organize, track and communicate your work towards specific goals or objectives. Projects are easy to configure and can highlight key information about your project’s target area, important milestones and timely calls to action.

After gathering valuable feedback from our Hub Premium users, we have added significant enhancements to beta experience that facilitate effective communication of project goals and progress to stakeholders.

Project Metrics

A key enhancement to Hub projects is the addition of 'Project Metrics'.

Metrics provide valuable insights into the efficiency and effectiveness of project activities, enabling you to identify areas for improvement and optimize your processes. We heard from our beta explorers that they desire for a way to communicate critical project metrics to their stakeholders (internal and external) within the context of project.  And now, Hub Premium users can use 'Metrics' in projects to do just that!

Metrics can be leveraged to communicate project specific goals, progress, and the success of their efforts to both internal and external stakeholders.

There are two types of metrics you can configure for your projects: static and/or dynamic.

Static metrics are fixed and need to be manually updated. They provide a great snapshot of a specific aspect of your project at a given point in time. Dynamic metrics, on the other hand, offers an evolving perspective on your project, are continuously updated, and reflect real-time data. You can configure dynamic metrics using any external data source, such as the feature service layer.

Every project can have up to 24 metrics associated with it, and you can designate up to 4 metrics as featured for increased visibility on your project view.

A unique feature of project metrics is the ability to have 'hidden metrics'. These metrics can be accessed only by your project collaborators and is a great way to showcase private metrics to internal stakeholders.  A hidden metric can be made public when desired and vice versa as well.

Call-to-Action button

Another great enhancement to Hub projects beta experience is the  addition of an interactive  'Call To Action' button which can be configured to prompt your stakeholders to take a specific action directly from the project view.

The CTA button can be set up to encourage community sign-ups, collect feedback, download content or perform any other desired action for achieving specific goals.

The button can be  linked to any existing content on your AGOL or an external source. Make sure that the button is 'labelled' to be action oriented!
