If you plan to upgrade to Enterprise version 11.1, you will be unlocking the following improvements to Enterprise Sites. Those considering acquiring a license or moving up to this latest release will be interested to read the updates below.

  • When adding content to a site, a re-designed interface allows you to enter basic metadata, and set access permissions upon upload. The new workflow also handles error messages in a more manageable way.

  • And speaking of uploading content, you can now add Microsoft PowerPoint files (.ppt, .pptx) to your library, files typically used to create presentations or slides.
  • Now for the mappy news: If your dataset items have a geographic extent (area covered) assigned, Enterprise Sites will automatically zoom to that area in preview mode. When needed, content managers can define and update an item’s extent straight from the content details page.Set geographic extentSet geographic extent
  • If you add geospatial content to your library such as web maps or feature layers, visitors to your live site will be able to draw and filter map features. Can you say points, lines, and polygons?! You can also filter to an enlarged area (buffer) around a drawn feature to contain data of interest.

  • And last but not least, services that have Time Info activated in ArcGIS Enterprise will automatically display a Time slider. This allows users to animate and filter the service's data based on the time attribute.
