I'm trying to configure Maps for SharePoint, and think I'm almost there but don't seem to be able to complete the Set Credentials step within App Configuration.

Is there / should there be a manual way to achieve this please?

The documentation I have states:

1. Navigate to the Site Settings page of the site.

2. Under the Esri Maps for SharePoint Administration heading, click App Configuration.

3. Enter the appropriate credentials and click OK.

but every time I manage to enter credentials there's a callback which fails.

The Configuration Settings are updated as the OAuthAppId value is returned and stored but the App Configuration credentials are not. I just see what's below.

I'm running the Esri Maps for SharePoint 4.0 Beta 2 release on SharePoint 2010

Any assistance would be tremendous!

Many thanks

Hi,

If you are using IE, have you added the following domains to your trusted sites: http://*.arcgis.com, https://*.arcgis.com, http://*.yoursharepointsite.com, https://*.yoursharepointsite.com

Then try deleting the value for OAuthAppId and try setting the credentials again.

Thanks Dara.

I've tried this but without success. I was using IE but have also seen if I can get it working with Mozilla or Chrome.

Does my SharePoint site need to be accessible externally? Currently it's sat within our network so I fear the issue is that the oauth callback fails as the redirect can't get see the site? Although an OAuthAppId is generated and written to the App Config Credentials.

If this is the issue is there an easy resolution?

I'm really just wanting to test out the map web part internally so don't want to have to publish the SharePoint site outside.

Steve,

Did you try creating your own app and using it's AppID? The steps are under the Configure 10.3 Portal and ArcGIS Online Enterprise logins section of Configure Maps for SharePoint—Esri Maps for SharePoint | ArcGIS

Thanks Dara.

I have followed these steps. As I'm using SharePoint 2010 I've created a new secure store service but I wonder if I haven't quite got this right. I don't seem to be able to find any information on exactly how the service should be configured -  for example where or whether I need to use the App secret.

Do you know if there's any additional guidance anywhere please?

Did you see the doc of the system requirements section of beta (the 4th bullet) at Esri Maps for SharePoint | ArcGIS?
