We are pleased to announce the release Esri Maps for SAP Business Objects v1.0.
With Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects, you can enrich your SAP dashboards with live interactive maps, allowing you to analyze business data visually and interactively. Esri Maps Designer, the map configuration application in Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects, is used to configure maps that will interact with other components in your dashboard. Esri Maps Designer is designed to seamlessly integrate into the everyday workflows familiar to you and to dashboard consumers, without the need for custom coding or GIS expertise.
With Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects, dashboard designers can create rich maps that interact with other components and combine published geographic data from ArcGIS with SAP Dashboards business data for easier analysis. Similarly, dashboard consumers require no additional skills or tools to start using map-enabled reports to analyze their data visually. Dashboard consumers can view, browse, query, and manipulate the maps in the dashboards using tools and actions that you configure.
For product documentation and other information about Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects, see the Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects webhelp and be sure to visit the Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects forum often to get help from your community.
Currently, Esri Maps integrates with the BusinessObjects dashboards. There is no direct integration with Web Intelligence reports, but a BI Workspace could be created that brings map enabled dashboards and WebI reports into the same reporting interface.
Looking ahead, we will be investigating the technical effort to provide WebI report support, due to the pervasiveness of WebI reports in the market. We will also need to balance this feature with the SAP roadmap around the future of the various interfaces.
Also note that you can submit an enhancement request to the team for WebI integration or any other feature, through ideas.arcgis.com. Click on the Post button and submit your request.
Has any progress been made on this subject? The last post was in February and we are now in June. I would like to integrate my ESRI map into a WebI document. If there is any progress on this subject, please let me know.
At this time, there is no definitive timeframe for the availability of this integration. Although on the roadmap, there is a fair amount of investigation that must occur around the technical implementation, as well as working with SAP to ensure that both of our strategic directions are aligned.
