Hello community,

I am using ArcGIS for PowerBI version 2025.1.800

I have a  ArcGIS map visual with the following setup:

  1. For the data points I have Latitude and Longitude variables. These are in decimal format.
  2. For the size of the data points I use the distinct count.
  3. I change the data points to use the blue color instead of the default orange.
  4. I change the display sizing of the data points to be from 8 to 25 (from the default of 3 to 30) so that they are a little bigger on the screen.
  5. I added in the "Basemap Street Map - Map Service" layer from our organization catalog.

However, when I switch pages on the dashboard I lose settings #3, #4, and #5. It goes back to a default state.

In AGOL, I have the Creator User type with Data Editor Role but I still see the popup that says "Sign in to ArcGIS with User type and Role set to Creator or higher to save changes and use analysis tools."

These are some pretty basic customizations. Why are my settings getting lost?

If it is because of my AGOL permissions, why do I need Creator access or higher to do these basic customizations that are all on the PowerBI side? I found documentation here about needing higher permissions but only for Join Layers, which I am not using: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-for-power-bi-blog/arcgis-for-power-bi-v-2025-1-change-log-and/b...

This worked differently a few months ago when I only needed Viewer permissions in AGOL.

Thank you in advance for your help

Dan
