Hi! This issue is kind of hard to explain. I have several maps created in powerBI. I have all of the advanced licensing. Lately if I try to add a layer it kicks off all of the other layers. It won't let me log in anywhere unless I add a new map and start over. So I can't log into the maps I've already created to add layers. There is not a single place I can find in the plugin to login to maps I've already created.
Hi @Hecht_Alice,
Can you please explain the workflow in steps? I am not sure what you mean by "if I try to add a layer it kicks off all of the other layers".
Couple of questions:
- Do you have any PowerBI Data layer on the Esri Visual (from the data pane) or are you only adding the layers from ArcGIS? If you only add layers from ArcGIS on the Esri visual it cannot save that until you add data from PowerBI connection.
- Another one could be if you had only ArcGIS layers on the esri visual and you choose to continue as guest on another page in the report it will affect other pages too and will sign you out. If the report doesn't have any PBI data layer on the esri visual it will clear it.
These are the possibilities, I can think of. Let us know if it is something totally different and we will try to answer.
Hi Akshay,
I am working on the desktop version of a model I have published online. I have some of my own feature layers in the model joined to the PowerBI data. I used to be able to search for my other hosted feature layers and add them in, but if I do that now all of the other layers are removed from the map and I end up with only the new layer. It seems to only be giving me basic permissions and there is nowhere in the plugin on my pre-made maps to sign in. If I add a brand new map pane to the model I can sign in and add as many layers as I like but I will still not be signed into the other maps on the model page and can't alter them without them resetting. It's hard to explain, wish I could show you.
nowhere to sign in on any of the options
Hi @Hecht_Alice,
Thank you for your question! Currently, sign in/out from profile is not supported in ArcGIS for Power BI. Could you try this?
1. Add another page
2. Add ArcGIS for Power BI on the new page
3. Sign in to your ArcGIS account in ArcGIS for Power BI on the new page
4. Come back to your original report
5. Delete the new page as needed
This way, your ArcGIS for Power Bi credentials will be carried over. And the same thing for logging out.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
