Stuck on Portal step even though I want to use ArcGIS Online

When clicking on Add Map I get this message.

No Idea what la.arcgis.com is.  I do not want to hook to any portal I just want to use ArcOnline.  I tried all kinds of URLs with no luck.  On 2021 v still.  I have not seen this error before and it is not on any searches.

Thank you for your patience. A new version of s/w has been released in June 2022, and its name is 'ArcGIS for Excel'. Here is the document link on how to 'Get the ArcGIS for Excel'. Please use the new version of s/w and see whether it helps.

Microsoft Store is blocked for us so I am starting the process to get this approved by IT.  Will report back.

@DougBrowning I was getting this same error. I found that opening an empty excel doc/sheet gave me more options in the sign in space. 

Opening a file that has data always have me the la.arc.com message.

Interested to hear if you resolved this. I'm having another sign in issue now and there just doesn't seem to be enough documentation for this product.
