Using ArcGIS for AutoCAD 400 and getting an error message when performing a synchronize command for a line feature class. Did a simple line stretch and the error occurs.
Please provide details on what can be causing this problem
Thanks Julius White - jwhite@gie.com
Hello Julius,
I would like to thank you for using ArcGIS for AutoCAD, however, I do apologize for the behavior you are running in to. To get started on this sync issue we are having let's first make sure we are running the latest build of ArcGIS for AutoCAD, which is 410. It is indicated above we are actually running a 400.x build so first I would like us to uninstall your existing build and then install the latest build. You can download the free plug-in here. Some additional help from the Online documentation follows:
ArcGIS for AutoCAD system requirements
There is no mention of where this web layer resides (ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise) or what version if on ArcGIS Enterprise. I want to include the following resource in case you are using ArcGIS Enterprise and it is version 10.7.0 or earlier for this upgrade.
Register ArcGIS for AutoCAD on ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.0 and earlier portals
Once we are running build 410 open the drawing from your screen capture above and just click synchronize with no edits waiting. If the synchronization works fine we can then add a new line somewhere in the drawing and then try to sync again. What happens?
Kind regards,
@Hello @DanWade
I've encounterd the same problem when trying to synchronize the features.
However, I've already installed ArcGIS for AutoCAD version 410
And when I answered "Yes" to pursue the synchronize, the new feature I created were disappeared.
It seems like nothing have synchronized.
Regards,
Hello MCh,
I thank you as well for using ArcGIS for AutoCAD and I am sorry about this issue you are running into while synchronizing. I must say, as the error indicates if the user continues then it is possible all edits will be lost.
With the information provided I really cannot provide an answer just yet. I might suggest a case be submitted to Esri Technical Support, but let's go through a few questions first to get started.
1) What version of AutoCAD are we using?
2) Is this feature layer from ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise? If ArcGIS Enterprise, what version are we using?
3) If ArcGIS Enterprise did you happen to check the ArcGIS Server (hosting server) logs for additional information on the error?
4) Are we using the native language version of ArcGIS software or the English versions?
5) Does this layer use subtypes and domains? If so, can we check for any special characters that might be in use?
6) Can you make edits to this layer from an ArcGIS Map Viewer?
7) Was this layer synchronizing successfully at the previous build of ArcGIS for AutoCAD, 400.2?
I look forward to hearing from you!
Hi @DanWade
1.Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D 2022
2.It's feature service from ArcGIS Enterprise Geodatabase 10.8.1 which is added to AutoCAD by URL.
3.I'll let the technical team check on it later.
4.English version
5.It has subtypes but doesn't have any special characters
6.Yes, it works fine with GIS
7.I've already upgarded to 410 now, so I cannot test on that.
Regards,
Hello @MCh,
I appreciate all of the requested information, however, without reviewing those ArcGIS Server logs we do not have a direction to go in just yet.
I suggest submitting a case with Esri Technical Support (Enterprise Extensions Team) with all of this information and the type of enterprise database and version. If you can provide then with the feature layer to test or a copy of the data to test in-house that would help as well.
Thank you!
