It would be great if we could have a checkbox when loading web feature layers to ignore the symbology set to prevent a CAD Layer being made for each one.
Hi @DerekBannon22,
Thanks for posting this Idea. With the January 2025 release of ArcGIS for AutoCAD, a templating user experience (and LISP functionality) was added to set the mapping between the web feature layer and CAD layer/symbology.
With the above functionality, you can set up your drawing templates (.dwt) and/or drawings (.dwg) so that the desired CAD layer name and CAD symbology is applied upon adding a given web feature layer.
Please let us know if this is relevant to the Idea request. If not, would you be willing to provide additional details, particularly regarding ignoring the symbology?
Hey @MichaelDavidsonPM,
I updated the my layer to a new symbol layer called ESRI_FieldInfo and saved it to a template and it just came in under that layer and still made layers for each symbology group which is what I am trying to avoid. I believe the same thing would happen with a LISP routine. I have a ArcGIS for AutoCAD question posted currently that explains a work around that I am currently doing to alleivate this issue as syncs take a long time on web layers that have a lot of sybmology that get broken down into many CAD Layers.
