User isn't able to sign in to Field Maps

One of our users is unable to log into Field Maps; she's using iPhone with the latest version of the iOS and has the most up-to-date version of the application.

The map is served through ArcGIS Online. When she selects the option to log in, the app comes back with the message 'Sign In Error - Not logged in' (see the image below).

She's already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application, but is still getting the same message.

Is there anyway of getting around this issue?

I sent the message "down the chain" to see if they can attempt to log into a different Portal or AGOL. However, I am sure if the remaining affected user has access to AGOL or a different ArcGIS Enterprise Portal or not.  If I hear anything back, I will let you know. Appreciate you looking into this either way. 🙂

Hi @ColinLawrence ,

I did get confirmation this morning that the user in question was able to log into ArcGIS Online successfully.  They have yet to reset their device, so their device is still in the same state.  Suspicious this might have something to do with the security patch on our Portal and/or that the user was on an old iOS version when this occurred.  Just some shots in the dark there.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for confirming this @MitchellGrafstein . That behavior matches what we started seeing as well.

@ColinLawrence - Any further information regarding this issue?  Any other solutions other than having our users erase their device settings?  I just got another user with this complaint today.  I think that is five I know of, and I am sure many I have not heard from.

Is this confirmed to be an issue with Enterprise?  Is it related to the iOS version being old, as well?  Something off between the two?  Something off with the last security patch for Enterprise?

Appreciate any further information or guidance you can provide.

Thank you.

Hi @MitchellGrafstein we are looking at a potential workaround that we can push in the meantime. This would come in the form of a beta build so consider joining the field maps early adopter community if you are not already a part of that. If everything goes smoothly with that a fix would be a part of the 24.3 update coming in early/mid November.

This issue is not specific to Enterprise as it can happen to any one "portal" including ArcGIS Online. This is why people are able to log into other portals (like a QA environment) or a different ArcGIS Online organization. Its related to the caching of credentials on iOS.

Hi @ColinLawrence ,

Thank you for the rapid response, appreciate the extra info.  While I am part of the Early Adopter Program, it would not be something we could enforce upon our program users (who obtain ArcGIS Field Maps from various sources depending on their organization.)

I will keep an eye out for the fix though, so again, thank you very much.

I have a user who is having the same issue. iOS version 17.6.1 and FieldMaps version 24.2.0

The issue appeared when they re-downloaded the app on Friday and have since tried redownloading.

We had two other reports that different users were forced to reset/erase all settings on their device in order to resolve this issue.

We are having the same issue. Only some of our tablets are affected.
