I've noticed some odd behaviour on the main Field Maps app screens, mainly around loading times, and wondering if anyone else has experienced similar?

It's the same on two separate Android devices (one phone, one tablet), v24.3.0 of Field Maps.

  • My Maps loads after Groups, so I can initially see some of the groups on the screen and then after a few seconds they disappear to make room for My Maps. Annoying if I'm trying to tap on one of the groups.
  • All of the groups take a while to load. In particular there is a group that initially doesn't appear at all. After a few seconds the group appears but says there are only a few maps. A few more seconds and it reloads and shows that there are 100 maps. A few more seconds again and it finally shows the actual number of maps (varies but around 130).
  • If I go into the group with those maps, it takes about 30 seconds to load the list of maps up. The screen is just blank before that.
  • Again in that group with lots of maps, if I refresh the screen by pulling down from the top, it duplicates the first map on the list, and does the same each time, so you can end up with all the maps on the screen as just repeats of that first map.

I'm guessing (wild guess!) that it's to do with the number of maps in that group? The last point seems more like a bug though rather than just an issue with slow loading.

Hi @DebSF ,

When did you notice this issue started happening or has it always been a problem? You mentioned one Group has ~130 maps, are there other large Groups that you have access to as well? Roughly how many maps does this account own (My Maps)? Finally, it shouldnt be relevant, but what device model(s) are the androids and if you have other devices can you replicate the same thing on them?
