Good afternoon all,
I hope this is something simple, that I'm just over seeing.
We have a Viewer User Type with a Guest role for a client just so they can view a map in Field Map.
I have created a group for this client, and only shared the features pertaining to that specific field map.
Here is my issue.
-Said client logs into FM with username/ password we supplied
-On initial view they only see that one field map I shared with them
-But if they have the gumption, they can use the search box by scrolling down. This reveals a few other maps we use in your organization. Yes, they need to start typing to find them, but they are there. This is less than ideal for my company.
I could use some help or explaining in this area. If this has been discussed before, just point to the right place. Hoping this is just a toggle somewhere.
Thanks all
Hey @KyleKeath
We have a similar situation with contractors, in our case, we had to move organizationally shared items into their own high-level groups, this prevents them from searching, is this the same case you're having?
Cody
This sounds like the same issue. I'm pretty new to some of this organization stuff, as it currently got handed to me.
What are the high-level groups you're talking about?
Did that solve the search issue in Field Maps?
Kyle
Hey @KyleKeath
I apologize I use weird terminology, when I mention high-level it's just like a bucket group. For our construction crews, I have a bucket group named "Construction" and it just contains everything that people in construction would need. If I need to isolate a map, I assign it to only one group, and then the users to that group.
Removing the organizationally shared groups will solve the search issue problem in Field Maps, I think the only maps that appear would be the Esri world maps and so on.
