Field Map Designer Form "Editing is Disabled in the Field Settings" error, even though it is enabled

Hello,

I am working on a form in Field Maps Designer and there is a field that I cannot set to editable (data table field, not feature layer if that matters). Next to the editable box, it simply gives me the message "Editing is Disabled in The Field Settings". I don't understand why I am getting this error, as the field does have editing enabled, to the point that I am able to edit it on other webmaps, just not this one. Other fields on this layer work fine and can be edited. I've tried deleting and remaking the form, "Resetting to Source Layer Properties", and nothing works. I cannot make this field editable. Any ideas?

I see that the MeterID is hidden can you make it visible, does this open up the editing option?

Hi Patrick,

I have encountered this issue before on a hosted feature class.

In my case it was caused by a relationship class.

Problem was that the affected field (on which the warning "Editing is Disabled in The Field Settings" was located)  was a related field set as the Foreign Key with the layer as the Destination Table. It seems that in forms and Field Maps designer you need your editable related field to be set as the Primary Key on the Origin Table. 

Once the relationship class was re-built in reverse with the offending layer set as the Origin Table with its field as the Primary Key, the issue was resolved. 

Unsure if this is what you have encountered as you do not mention any relationships but it seems to match exactly with the error I encountered.
