Our department has alot of workers using different apps, and our administrator is opposed to creating more groups in AGOl for each subset of workers, because philosophicaly they are all technically subgroups of public works.
Consequently our app list for Public Works is very long. Is there a way for the user to hide the apps that they don't want to see on their phone or tablet in field maps, so they only see the apps they want to use?
This would be very helpful for our organization. I totally get that that is what "groups" are for, but is there a workaround?
Our apps are broken out by task, instead of having one app with everything, so here are a few examples of the apps that we have and each app is used by a different subset of workers and they all have edit privlidges but I don't want them opening another app and accidentally editing the other features. It is okay for the to see the other apps data, but not edit it.
Culvert inspection app
noxious weeds chemical applicaiton app
road approach permit app
diking district maintenance app
surveyor app to view monuments
chip sealing, paving and stripng app
water and sewer inventory app
landfill app
parks app
and more etc...

You can only hide maps if you are the owner of them. So if the workers are not using any of those maps above go into the field maps designer and hide them, this should hide them for everyone.

@DanielFox1Some of the workers in the group will use them and some won't and will use other apps instead. The idea is that in their field maps app, they could hide the apps they won't use.
I could post this as an idea for a feature to see if anyone else is interested in having it.
