It would be great to be able to create 'lists' or grouping of points for routine maintenance that we can share with other users in our team. Selecting points by attribute or selecting a geography would be extremely helpful for managing work.

We are an NPO that manages large quantities of trees. It would be helpful to create planting / maintenance lists for other team members complete while capturing the work history.

I believe this is what's in store for the Field Maps app as they integrate Workforce into Field Maps.

You have a couple of options here in the interim:

  1. Create a related table for routine maintenance that users can add records to for each feature to request maintenance. Then have a separate map with the tree layer and maintenance table joined to show the locations and type of maintenance to be done.
  2. Set up a workforce project that integrates with your trees layer.
  3. If you don't have the points of your trees in a database, you can use quick capture and workforce. Esri did a write up on this method here.
  4. Use a combination of the previous two methods and use python + web hooks to automate work order creation in workforce when a new record in the routine maintenance related table is created.
