The new functionality that allows saving configuration to layer rather than in the map is helpful. But what if we need to apply that field maps configuration to a new layer (with similar or the same schema) or view layer? Currently this requires redoing and reconfiguring the Field Maps from scratch since they are different layers. Perhaps saving the configuration to the map itself and allowing that to be set (where applicable) for a different layer can help with many workflows.
