What's new in ArcGIS Field Maps (June 2022)

We're excited to announce the June release of ArcGIS Field Maps! This is a big update leading into the summer with exciting new features like:

• Geofencing can provide local notifications for mobile users or control location sharing (even when offline!)
• ArcGIS IPS support so Field Maps can get an accurate blue dot indoors
• Utility Network support - maps in the field are so much more powerful when you can view associations and trace networks!
• Capture GPS metadata for lines and polygons - record the spatial accuracy of all types of features now!
• Contingent Values - now working offline and with an intuitive form design experience
• Field Apps licensing changes

Hi Jeff,

After the latest update me and any members of my organization can't download any offline maps in our devices. The error we are getting is similar in every single occasion. 

code = 500 - details = "Acquire replica lock error." - message = "Unable to create replica. Please check your parameters.";

From what I can understand, there is a problem with the token, as its expiration date seems to be in the past!

e.g:

This is the expiration date of the token in my app logs - 

tokenExpiration: 2022-06-23 13:08:54 +0000

While the local time was around 14:00 and I just tried to download the map offline.

Can you please give us any advice ?

Thank you for sharing this feedback.

I have a few questions to try and understand and narrow down the issue to help with our investigation:

- When was the last successful download performed in Field Maps using the same maps/services that are now failing? 

- For this current behavior, is everyone within the organization attempting to create and download the offline map area at the exact same time? 

- Would you able to share  a map with me that I could test with to reproduce the behavior? If so, could you share the map/services with the ArcGISFieldMaps user account.

At this point we don't suspect the token is a factor in this issue and that the replica lock error is independent.

To answer your questions,

- The issue is happening accross all our maps so it's not regarding one map or a specific service. I remember personally downloading an offline area before a week successfully, but probably someone from our organization should have downloaded any map on Monday or Tuesday of this week.

- No, I tried to download a map that is only shared on a personal level and I am still facing the same issue.

- I have invited the user ArcGISFieldMaps and shared a map and some services with you.

My troubleshooting ideas were:

1) Disable-enable the offline option in the map setting

2) Create new web map with existing hosted feature layers

3) Publish new hosted feature layers and create new web map

4) Publish new empty hosted feature layers and create new web map

Working the map live seems fine, but I get the same error with all the above when it comes to download an offline area.

Thank you for sharing that information with me. I tested the map you shared and can reproduce the same download failure. 

The cause of the issue has been identified and a fix should be available through ArcGIS Online within the next few days.

I will follow-up with you after the fix is available and I've had a chance to verify with your map.

This issue should be resolved. This morning I successfully downloaded the map you shared with me.

We are seeing errors when attempting to go offline today - this appears to be happening for multiple layers which are editable Views. Error looks like this:

Could this be related to the issues above? 

I own the View - it is editable, sync-enabled, has editor tracking ON and allows Adds/Updates.

Very exciting to here about the new geofencing abilities.  

For future enhancements is there a chance to get get a desktop/web version of fieldmaps.  Some users would like to use fieldmaps on their surface tablet.  To which I have to explain that is small computer and unable to run fieldmaps, they can either use a phone, or purchase a tablet.
