Hi there, we have a map in use within an Experience Builder (AGO) List widget. The List is populated via a public view layer hosted in our agency's Enterprise Portal 10.8.1. We have the setting there disabled to allow export of the data, yet the List widget still allows for the export to occur.

Public View layer setting (Portal 10.8.1):

List widget (AGO):

It then successfully downloads the records as csv.

Should this happen? I was checking in the List widget settings but couldn't seem to find an option to disable it, though I'm sure it's somewhere.

What is the most secure way to control this setting? It is important for us to disable public export or download of this dataset or we'd be violating a terms of use agreement.

Hi Brittany,

For hosted feature layer, the app will also check the layer item settings and the end user's role.

Please see details at:

https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/manage-data/use-hosted-layers.htm#GUID-47A1D795-B330-45D7-89...

https://doc.arcgis.com/en/experience-builder/build-apps/select-data.htm#LI_72E57606A71043898AEC5CCAA...

Therefore, even if the option "Allow others to export different formats" is disabled, since you are the owner or the admin of the feature layer, you can still export the data.

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Shengdi

Update: I did indeed find it in the Data panel. I'm still not quite sure what I clicked to get here, but just click around a bunch! I still think it's weird that this setting, if enabled, overrides the layer level setting however.

Hello,

Can you help me to enable the export .csv as you show it there? I'm new to this and I don't know how to do it in the experience builder

Super helpful, thank you @ShengdiZhang for clearing that up! I am not an owner of the layer but I am indeed an admin, so that explains it.
