We have an app that is set to go live but the latest AGOL update has caused our scrolling page to malfunction when the "Open with Window" option is enabled on any page within the EXB (scrolling or not). The windows are helpful tools that serve as initial pop-ups to give users an overview or directions on how to use the application and has a button option to close the window. Now having the windows set to open with a page causes the scrolling page that users are eventually directed to fail to load map widgets, the header to disappear, and obviously subsequent table widgets that are configured to filter by map extent to not load. This appears to be a bug that was introduced with the last AGOL update in February of 2025.
Now that this functionality is lost, I'm trying to find a workaround using other widgets but it doesn't appear to be a possibility. I'd like for a button click on one page to direct users to another page where a window will appear automatically to provide instructions, a screenshot, and a button to close the window. However, the button's set link settings must link to Page in order to direct users to the next page. The only Targets supported for the button's Action is the Widget Controller or Sidebar Widget. The Sidebar Widget is not practical design-wise. The Widget Controller does not allow style settings for the widgets themselves, so the content that appeared on our windows is now very small. Simply having the option for a Button to trigger the close of a widget would be ideal.
Any ideas on how to have some sort of pop-up, window, or splash screen that can be stylized and automatically appears upon opening certain pages with a button click without using a window? Ideally, I'd love to just have the Window functionality back, but I'm afraid the fix may not come in time for our app release.
Hi @WhitneyPatterson ,
I have tried to reproduce the page window bug but fails. Page windows do not affect widgets and header loading on my end.

If you set a button link to a page that has a page window, the window should open automatically.
There is currently no workaround to achieve a similar effect.
Could you provide me with a sample app so we can take a look to identify the bug and find a workaround? My username is she10946.
Thanks,

Hi Shendgi,
Thank you for the follow-up and confirming that there is not a workaround solution to the window issue. I have invited you to the group where the content is hosted for collaboration with ESRI. I will message you privately as well.
Hi @WhitneyPatterson ,
We have released a patch to fix this issue. Could you please check if everything looks good on your end?
thanks,
