I have an Experience Builder based project where I an configuring a search widget to locate locations using the ArcGIS World Geocoding Service and a local map service feature point layer with one field searchable:
The map zooms perfectly when I type in a street address. However, when I type in a Fire Hydrant number, the search box returns the Hydrant ID OK, but the map will not zoom.
I can enable another trigger for Data filtering change --> Zoom, however after zooming to the hydrant, if I close this search box, the map zooms back to the deault extent. Not a behaviour I would like.
Any idea why this would be?
Thanks in advance,
M
@Lake_Country_GIS, try the "interact with a map widget" method instead (assuming the layer you're wanting to search is in your map):
(Besides turning off filtering, I left all other configurable aspects (on the Content tab) as the default.)
For your actions, try:
^ Notice the checkmark being off for "Return to the initial map extent when selection is cleared"
You'll almost certainly want to format the actual results better, but hopefully this shows the idea.
Hi Nicole,
I followed all of your suggestions, but, the behaviour is the same. Map zooms to addresses (via ESRI Locator). But map will not zoom when using the layer search option. Perhaps there is a problem with my map service?

I tried again using a new web map and your data, and I'm seeing the same thing. Even bringing the data into Pro, I can't even select a handful of hydrants and then zoom to them.
If you do create a support case, please post the resolution here!
I've tested using your map service, and I am running into the same issue. When viewing your service in the Map Viewer, features disappear and reappear when panning and zooming around the map - I wonder if this has something to do with the issue. For example, if I try to zoom to hydrant 17808, it disappears when I get to around this zoom level, even though I have not set a visible range:
Do you see the same behaviour?
I would recommend raising a technical support case with your local distributor so we can look into this further.
It seems to be working now. Not sure what I did though.
One thing that isn't working, or, I don't know how to configure is the widget correctly, but, for the Geocoding service, a custom icon is displayed upon search result. For the hydrant search, the custom icon doesn't display, just the standard highlighted dot. Any idea why this would be?
