The Smart Editor needs to allow users to be able to add their own shapefiles, kmls, gpx files, etc. to the viewer, then copy that spatial data into our feature service in the app.  Our agency has many apps stuck in WAB because ExB doesn't give us the capabilities we need to capture client data.

I completely agree with this. This functionality (as seen in the WAB documentation) is necessary to have feature parody with web app builder.

Yes, this is an important feature and I'm currently trying to figure out what my work flow looks like without it. I have a relational database (in ArcGIS online) set up for biologists to create features and store feature data for a statewide program using Exp Builder and we often receive features from other sources.  These boundaries could be thousands of acres and without the ability to import a shapefile or a .kmz, we may be faced with drawing these features!  WAB and Smart Editor did it all.

Unless I'm missing something, if each staff works with map viewer to access the needed tools, any new data would be decentralized and stored in their "my content".  Without the ability to add other forms of data to EB, @esriesri any suggestions on how the end user might work between apps integrate data in EB in the meantime would be appreciated.
