Hello,

Our organization uses ArcGIS Server (recently updated to 10.3.1) to serve up maps on our intranet.  Sporadically we have had trouble with the measuring tool throwing errors (even in other versions).  The last two weeks the tool has been working half the time and then stopped working at all.  We have isolated the issue to the Geometry Service on our ArcGIS Server and it was recommended that I remove the service and re-add it.  I have looked for a white paper on how to do this, but am having a hard time locating anything.  Any thoughts on how to go about this...pros-cons?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Gail

Hi Gail,

Take a look at the following help doc.  It will provide you the steps on how to recreate the Geometry service:

Re-creating the geometry service—Documentation (10.3 and 10.3.1) | ArcGIS for Server
