I'm using Server 10.3. I'm trying to publish a geoporcessing script tool from ArcMap. This tool runs a Python script that takes data from a raster and generates a chart from VBS and Excel. I've tested the tool and it works in ArcMap. I have most of my data and scripts in a test folder on my workstation. I've successfully registered and validated this folder on the server.
When I try to share the GP script tool as a service, I keep getting errors saying the source isn't registered with the server. It says the VB script referenced in the script tool can't be copied to the server. It lives in the registered folder as well. I'm not sure how to proceed.
Lloyd,
Did you get this figured out?
Yes. After working on this for a few weeks on my own and with ESRI tech support, I came to the conclusion that Excel and VBS can't be triggered from the web through ArcGIS server. We're retooling our scripts to use matplotlib, which is working perfectly. It also cuts many steps out of the process.
