I use ArcGIS Pro to overwrite a web layer on my Portal's Hosting Server, including map image and feature. Data is referenced from an enterprise geodatabase.
The map image layer pretty immediately reflects changes but the feature layer takes several minutes, up to an hour I've seen, to recognize and reflect changes. I especially notice this when I make a schema change: adding a field to feature class, renaming a field, etc.
I tried restarting the service from Server Manager to see if the changes could be detected more quickly that way, but that did not work. I just had to wait.
Sharing a new web layer or publishing in Server Manager via service defintion lets all schema be immediately available at the REST endpoint.
Is this expected behavior or might there be some configuration that can help me?
