Hello -

Just putting this up for the community.  Our Enterprise upgrade from 11.5 to 12.0 went well.  So far:

The deployment content and functionality are fine.

Responsiveness is fine.

Living Atlas content access is fine.

The Instant Apps, Experience Builder and Field Maps Designer edit config pages are fine.

Existing Instant Apps and Experiences Builder apps from 11.5 are fine.

The Portal, ArcGIS Server sites and DataStores are all updated, no registration issues with datastores or registration issues with any of the web adaptors.

Overwrite of service definitions is fine using Pro 3.6, ArcPy sharing module or the arcgis api

Publication of new hosted feature services form Pro 3.6 is find.

The only thing that came up for me is that I was unable to re-disable the services directories after upgrade for the ArcGIS Server sites using the following:

https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/administer/windows/disabling-the-services-directory.h...

  1. Open the ArcGIS Server Administrator Directory and sign in with an account that has been granted administrator privileges.
  2. Access the Services Directory settings by clicking system > handlers > rest > servicesdirectory > edit.
  3. Uncheck Services Directory Enabled and click Save.

When performing step 3 – “Uncheck Services Directory Enabled and click Save” the check box control immediately reverts to its ‘checked’ state, leaving the Services Directory ‘Enabled’.

It turns out this is a known bug and is in review.  Support provided a simple workaround to adjust a json file setting, but they have not publicized the bug or workaround yet.

I would say if disabling the services directory is important to your deploy, then contact support as soon as your upgrade is in place and they will tell you the fix.  If you are ok with your services directory being visible, then no worries.

Hope this helps others.

One thing I did notice are changes to webgisdr.  When I access

Program Files>ArcGIS>Portal>tools>webgisdr>lib

directory the only files in place now are the webgisdr-service.jar and the webgis-manager.jar java runtime files.

Also, the 7zip directory is now gone.

I was able to perform a full backup with my bat file that calls my updated myfullsitebkup.properties  - so I can only assume that the updated webgisdr tool doesn't need all the previous library files since 3.x is now gone

thoughts?
