We will be upgrading from an ArcGIS Server Workgroup license to an ArcGIS Server Standard license. The Workgroup license uses a SQL Express database instance. We have several geodatabases stored within the SQL Express instance. When we install the ArcGIS Server license upgrade will the install automatically convert the SQL Express instance to a standard SQL database instance, or will I need to perform a migration process to achieve the benefits (e.g. database size) provided by a standard SQL database instance? I understand that I may want to perform some restructuring of my databases for other various reasons, but I just want to know what potentially happens in the background to the SQL Express database instance before we start working on the license upgrade. I have not been able to find any information regarding my particular question in the installation documentation.
