Hi,

Does anyone know what the '-1' refers to in the 'Max Token Expiration Minutes' on Portal? I went to change this value following these instructions and expected it to be 20,160 (2 weeks) - Specify the default token expiration time—Portal for ArcGIS  (10.4) | ArcGIS for Server

Does '-1' mean there is no expiration or does it mean the default of two weeks?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Michael and Matt,

In Portal for ArcGIS, the '-1' value for 'Max Token Expiration Minutes' represents a default of two weeks (or 20,160 minutes) validity for access tokens.

In addition to being the default value, 2 weeks also represents the max expiration value acceptable for access tokens - attempting to update this value to anything greater than 20,160 will not be accepted by the software. This is not explicitly stated in the Portal documentation - we will work to improve the info on the referenced doc page in future releases: Specify the default token expiration time—Portal for ArcGIS (10.6) | ArcGIS Enterprise.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks,

Jeff

Are there any options around this? To get a token generated for longer than 2 weeks?

Hi @Anonymous User ,

Apologies for the delayed response.

Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this. Two weeks is the max limit token expiration for a regular or oauth access token.

Thanks,

Jeff
