Hello,
We have installed Portal for ArcGIS and would like to use Collector for ArcGIS with our Portal.
I am having issues connecting to our Portal through Collector. Is there a specific URL I need to enter.
Some Info
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Drew
Built-in named user. I am using the initial administrator username and password to try and sign in on Collector.
Is the certificate coming from GoDaddy or is it a wildcard certificate?

Aravind, thanks for the reply!
Not coming from GoDaddy. I'll have to check with our IT Dept to find if it is a wildcard certificate.
The cert is issued by thawte SSL CA - G2
(not sure if that says anything about it being a wildcard or not).....
Okay try the following steps:
1. Open Portal in Chrome.
2. Look at the URL, eg.
- Does it have a fully secured green with the green lock in front?
3. If so, click the green lock icon, you will get the following option. Choose "Connection".
4. Click certificate information.
5. Choose details.
6. Scroll down to Field: "Subject".
7. Look at the value of "CN" in subject. If it's: <portal-domain-name> then good. If it contains " * " in the front, it's assigned as a wildcard certificate.
Ok,
Yes, it is fully secure and there is no wildcard certificate assigned.
I was using https://<domain-URL>/webadapter/home
I removed "home" from the end and tried logging into collector. It works!
Thank you so much!
Great
I should have checked this first. It's 99% of the cases we get here at Support relating to login issues.
Was I incorrect to have "home" at the end? or is there another issue?
By default, your Portal URL is only upto "https://<FQDN-URL>/webadaptor". "home" gets added as part of the context when you load Portal for ArcGIS on your browser.
