Login screen for Portal 10.3

I am new to Portal, installed 10.3, and seemed to get through the initial admin account setup.

However, subsequent trips to the Sign In screen results in this:

No boxes for user/password appear, and the only workaround is to create a new account, with a unique email/user,

and this is good for one Sign In only, then it goes to the "prison." I'm sure it has something to do with "security"

but that's not really my forte, please advise.
