Hi all

I would like to add a 3D-Service which i published to ArcGIS Online in Portal for ArcGIS. Because it is not a public service i need to input the credentials.

If I insert it to a webmap I need to input the credentials every time? Is there a way to store them in Portal for ArcGIS?

Cheers

What version of Portal for ArcGIS are you using?  I believe this was a bug at 10.2.2 where it would not prompt you to store credentials for secure services.

Thanks for the fast response. We use 10.5 just installed 4 weeks ago....

Try adding the following service and see if it prompts you to store the credentials:

https://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/SaveTheBay/FeatureServer/0

Username: user1

I need to set the credentials every time i open the map

Is this still necessary with 10.5:

You should receive the following:

Is there a reverse/forward proxy in your configuration?  If so, try setting this in the Portal Administrator:

Use a reverse proxy server with Portal for ArcGIS—Portal for ArcGIS (10.5) | ArcGIS Enterprise

Using a forward proxy server with Portal for ArcGIS—Portal for ArcGIS (10.5) | ArcGIS Enterprise

Thank you for the response. Yes we have a reverseproxy in our system. We test this.... but not at the moment. I let you know if this was the problem.

Hi Jake

Thanks again for the response. We are one step further. We configured the forwardproxy with the result to get the bullets to store the credentials.

But set to store the credentials or do not store the credentials and "add item" we get the following error-msg:

"Invalid service credentials A JSONObject text must begin with '{' at character 1 of "

What could cause this error?

Cheers

Do you receive the same error when you try with the service I provided previously?
