My group is currently upgrading our 10.9.1 ArcGIS Enterprise to 11.3. We use the same Portal license file for both our test and production environments. During the 10.9.1 duration, our test environment was set up after we had already set up our production environment. This time around we are wanting to upgrade our test environment before production. Will creating a new 11.3 Portal license file for test cancel the 10.9.1 that's being used in production? Or would we need to update test and prod simultaneously?

Creating a new 11.3 Portal license file for your test environment will not cancel the 10.9.1 license being used in your production environment. You can upgrade your test environment to 11.3 independently of your production environment. However, it is important to ensure that your new license file is adequate for your current user and app configuration in the test environment.
