portal for arcgis license

hi all

I need an help i have to upgrade mine arcgis server advanced license from 10.2.2 to 10.3, as i know from 10.3 the portal for arcgis license comes free. i want to know few things 1) do i need to deauthorize the license of arcgis server 10.2.2 and get the fresh license of 10.3 or i can just upgrade mine server to 10.3. and with the previous license of 10.2.2 i can install and authorize the portal.

2) if i cant then please do provide me the steps for doing the same.

Hi,

The ArcGIS 10.2.2 for Server license file would work well with ArcGIS 10.3 for Server. No need to deauthorize. But if you don't have a Portal for ArcGIS 10.2.2 license, you need an additional license of Portal for ArcGIS 10.3 license, which would be available with My Esri or request your local Esri Distributor.
