Enterprise Standard base deployment 11.1 on Windows Server 2019. A month or so after upgrade to 11.1 from 11.0 got a notification the server drive was filling up. I found the cause was dump files by Opensearch due to a fatal error involving the JRE installed with portal. I wasn't able to find much online to explain it, so attempted to use windows to repair the portal installation. It didn't seem to change any of the dates on the JRE folder under the portal runtime folder which seemed to have much older modified dates then the rest of the 11.1 install. I had already installed a couple patches including:
Portal for ArcGIS 11.1 Validation and Repair |
Portal for ArcGIS 11.1 Enterprise Sites Security Patch C |
I then installed:
Portal for ArcGIS 11.1 Sharing Patch |
Portal for ArcGIS 11.1 Security 2024 Update 1 Patch |
One of these did change the modified date for JRE and still waiting to see if this solves the issue. Other then the dump files filling the drive, I haven't noticed anything not working as expected.
A portion of the Opensearch log file that goes with the dump:

Still getting dmp files from OpenSearch even after an upgrade to Enterprise 11.5
IT has a script to periodically delete the files so they don't fill the drive. Have had many conversations with ESRI support, including at the last User Conference. No fix and no noticeable performance issues. Dozens of Services, maps, and apps published and working fine.
Since the upgrade to 11.5 from 11.1 we've had to change to an Object Store to replace the Tile Cache in our datastore. Server, Portal, and Datastore all on the same machine. ESRI recommends against installing the relational and Object Stores on the same machine, I'm aware of that but did it anyway, and frankly have only two hosted services published and none in the object store.
In addition to the existing OpenSearch issue:
New dump files have now started to appear that are related to the newly installed Object Store, appearing in the following folder
C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\DataStore\framework\etc\scripts
Some 16GB in 4 files seem to appear at each event, not sure what triggers it, days between events.
Arcgis Server logs show this corresponding event:
WARNING Oct 12, 2025, 8:54:04 PM The object store services on all the nodes of this object store will be restarted. Data Store
WARNING Oct 12, 2025, 8:54:04 PM ArcGIS Data Store is attempting recovery. Data Store
