What are the (below) modes supported by 2 portals for high availability?

  1. Active - Active (Both the portals will be active and serves the requests)
  2. Active - Passive (Only one portal will be active and serves the requests at any given point of time)

sounds like quantum physics but - "Active" and at the same time have machine status of "primary" and "standby"

Portal is acting as both active/standby as well as active/active. Each web server can take and respond to requests, however there is a primary database that is automatically replicated to the standby.

It already does, and has for a long time. The only requirement is that you set the Web Context URL first, which should point to a load balancer to balance traffic between the web adaptors.

@JonathanQuinn does/will HA portal support a second web adaptor like a ArcGIS Server site can?
