Importing Symbology

Hey all,

I'm working on a monthly update to a crime map for my city and my symbols wont seem to work. For instance I have these different types of crimes:

Assault
Burglary
Destruction/Vandalism
Drug/Narcotic Offenses
Weapon Law Violations

All of these are represented by points that I Geo-coded. However when I import the symbology from a previous months crime data they all show up in the table of contents but only Destruction/Vandalism will show up in the map.

Any Idea what I might be doing wrong?

My guess would be that something changed in the data values in the field that you are using for symbology.

I would agree, the values must not be identical to those in your original feature class. 

I would suggest either changing the values in your new layer or saving your symbols in a style to use in symbolizing your new values (http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//00s600000006000000.htm)
