I am trying to connect ArcGIS Server in ArcGIS for Desktop. The connection type is Publisher connections (Public GIS Services). After I put all info about Server URL and authentication,  I got the following Error Message.

"Server URL (in this case, our particular server URL)

Error: Proxy server got bad address from remote server (verify the server is running). "

Hi Saroj,

Could you post the resolution to this (if you ever found one)?  I'm having the same problem.

Thanks,

Keith

Keith,

As far as I can remember correctly, I think I was typing the instance name wrong.

Thanks for the info.  I'm certain I have the right instance name so I'll keep looking.

Running Fiddler when you're trying to connect may help.  It'll tell you if there are any HTTP errors.  If your Server is federated, make sure you use a publisher or admin account within the Portal.
