ArcInfo Generate File to Shapefile

Hello,

Back in the days of ArcvView 3.1 someone (Ron Wardenier) wrote an Avenue script that would convert an ArcInfo Generate file to a shape file. Can this function be done in ArcView 9.3 (Standard) or is there a script for ArcView 9.3 (Standard) that will accomplish this function?

ET Generate 3.0

I'm not sure which version it was written for.
