Hello,

I will install ArcGIS Enterprise on Azure using Multi Machine Multi Tier, so each ArcGIS Enterprise component will be deployed on a separate virtual machine to distribute resources.
Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS GIS Server (the hosting server), ArcGIS Image Server and ArcGIS Data Store (relational and tile cache), will each run on their own machine.
I understand that the ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder for Microsoft Azure to deploy all components of ArcGIS Enterprise, and I intend to use it.

Can I use Microsoft Azure SQL Database (version 12) for ArcGIS Data Store?

Is this correct?
- Azure Application Gateway
- Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Web Adaptor - D4 v4 and SSD Disk
- ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Web Adaptor - D4 v4 and SSD Disk
- ArcGIS Image Server, ArcGIS Web Adaptor - D4 v4 and SSD Disk
- Microsoft Azure SQL Database - Version 12
- ArcGIS Pro - NC6 and SSD Disk

Thanks,
Diego

Hi Diego.

You cannot use Microsoft Azure SQL Database (version 12) for ArcGIS Data Store. ArcGIS Data Store uses a PostgreSQL database to store "hosted" data. However, Microsoft Azure SQL Database can be deployed as a User Managed data store (database).
