D2M processing of DJI Mavic 3M

Dear D2M community,

I have a DJI Mavic 3M with RTK.  For several missions now I have collected RGB + MS (NIR, RE, R, G) imagery with RTK enabled/working and GCPs.  The RGB imagery and DEM products process perfectly.  With respect to the MS imagery, I cannot process the 4 bands simultaneously, which I was told D2M "Project/Advanced" option should enable and "D2M" is smart enough to ID the different images via naming convention (*_NIR, *_RE, *_R, and *_G), but no dice.  FYI, I am running 2024.2 version of D2M and I see no such option.

Then, when I try processing the NIR images (with rolling shutter option checked) D2M never processes these images very well.  I have tried all options (full, double, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 image sizes; ortho method...sparse points, solution points, none, etc., all with sub-optimal results.

Any suggestions?

Hi @PeterWolter ,

What you have heard is correct, when imagery is loaded into the new project window from a camera that supports different outputs (i.e. RGB, MS, thermal) we display a pop-up that allows you to select the product type you want to process.

This automatically filters only the images that match that product type and you will see a notification that this has happened.

Are you not seeing the product selection pop-up?

The typical naming convention for the Mavic 3 MS drone would have the filenames that look like the following:

NIR bands are not going to process by themselves in Drone2Map. The camera model expects the other bands (Green, Red, RedEdge) to properly generate the orthomosaic.

Feel free to let me know if you are still having issues, I can take a look at your flight images if you are open to sharing them to see if I can figure out what might be the problem.

Regards,
Mark
